Hey everyone, welcome back to the place we are testing every single glove that I can get my hands on. That joke will not get old. I promise you we're today we're testing the hardy glove. It is a medium duty. I don't know what that means. And we make gloves. I figured these glove manufacturers just make stuff up. They put on a box, they feel like it makes you wanna buy 'em. I don't know if that's true. This, what is this guy holding on the box? What is that? I don't know what that is, but it makes me uncomfortable. Let's open the box up and uh, and get the testing. Uh, okay, so Tara, which is not her real name, uh, is going to uh, basically take out this glove and is gonna cut, um, a dog bone shaped, uh, piece out of the glove. And we're gonna use that for testing right here on Chris's super fancy machine. And what we're gonna do is test it for elongation and tensile strength <laugh>. Alright, let me see. Um, my unofficial elongation test when I put it on my hand and, and do the wince test here.

That was not as good as, as we've had before. We've had better, we've had better here on the glove show and I really want to know what he's holding or she, I guess we got, what is that please? In the comments? Tell me what that is. What is it? It's round. It's like cylindrical. Okay, let's look at the box here. Five mil thickness, uh, <laugh>. Okay, well Chris will be the judge of that, sir, that claim. Um, we have to measure it as part of the tensile strength test. Textured palm for better grip, uh, store and a cool dry place. Single use only. Oh, it's sold at Harbor Freight. It looks like Harbor Freight tool distributed by, but we bought this on Amazon. Oh, it does say examination grade. So examination grade is a claim. It says examination medical exam. They're making a claim. That means that uh, it has to pass this test and uh, that's why we're holding it to that standard.

Um, they just threw that on there at the last second, I promise you. Like some like graphic artists got outta control and just like, I don't know, examination grade and they just made that up. Um, and an exam, a true exam quality glove box is gonna have all of the list of chemicals that it's been tested against on the back like that. This doesn't have that. And um, I mean it's sold at Harbor Freight. Clearly you don't go to, clearly there are not a lot of surgeons going to Harbor Freight going like, gimme some gloves. Like it's not really a thing. So how thick are these gloves? I know you get that question

A lot. They are point, I do, I do get a lot of thickness questions. Point zero six seven, which is not five

Mills, not five mill. Come on Harbor Freight. Alright, so what we're doing is, uh, elongation and tensile strength test. Uh, basically we're stretching the glove until it breaks and to meet the examination standard, which it's kind of making as a claim on there, it has to hit 500%. So that means getting all the way over to this quadrant. You can see we only have 1, 2, 3 gloves so far today that have met that claim. And this one is, oh, it's very high, very high. So we know it's gonna break before, um, see if it's gonna beat 300. It's already met its tensile strength claim, so it needs to meet 14 tensile strength. It beat that. Okay? And it did get into the 400, so 409.89%, um, elongation and uh, tensile strength of 29.89. So pretty good on that. Uh, let me see. It has the lot number.

It does not have the manufacture date, so we're gonna hold them to the 500%. So something a lot of people don't realize is that if a glove is more than six months old, which most gloves are because they're being made in Malaysia or China and they're being put on a boat, um, and they come over here, um, if that, if that happens and they're over six months, then the standards actually allow for them to be not as good. And so the standard drops to 400%, we're gonna hold 'em to 500% and we're gonna call 'em a fail because they're making claims in the box about five mil, which aren't true. Um, and uh, they, they didn't quite meet that 500%. Alright everybody, thank you so much for, for taking a look. I would say if you're in Harbor Freight and you need to have gloves, sure, grab these gloves. Um, but if you have a choice and you're on Amazon, there are a lot of other good options personally. That's, that's my opinion. Uh, that's what I would go for. Thank you so much for watching. I appreciate your time and attention and I will catch you on that next test.
