Why did this mask fail?

Review

Video Transcript Hey everyone. Welcome back to the place where we're testing every single mask on Amazon. And by every single mask on Amazon, I basically mean all the masks made by this one manufacturer called Chang Day Technology Co. More about that in a second. Let's get the ChiSip mask into the clamp machine.

ChiSip. I sip, you sip, we all sip for ChiSip. No? Okay. What's interesting is the packaging is all different. You know, the masks are different. They must have like 78-80 different lines. So this is not a sealed deal.

So I could tell you right away that, just as a spoiler alert, like Chang Day, which is the manufacturer behind all these different brands, let's get it into the clamp. Let her rip. This is a PFE machine, particulate filtration efficiency machine. This is the machine that you need if you want to see how much this mask is going to protect you. Right away, I can tell that this is not a legitimate KN95. You can too with this simple fact. For a mask to be a KN95, it needs to say KN95, GB2626-2019, but you also need to have the manufacturer name on the mask. Doesn't have that. It's not a KN95. And what I've found is that if they're not following these easy to do standards, they're probably not following these standards, which are a lot harder to make a quality mask.

Let's talk about ChiSip. ChiSip, ChiSip. Breathable protection outdoors. Each for concern and love. Snug and comfy. Widely used. So here's the thing, ChiSip is one of the brand names, but if you want to really know who's making the mask, on the KN95 mask you should just have to look on the mask itself. But in this case, this manufacturer wants to fly under the radar. They don't want you to know who they are, but you still have to, because of Chinese standards, they make you put the manufacturer name on the label. And so on the back of the label here, you can see, it says Chang Day manufacturing.

I've tested a lot of masks on Amazon. And so I said, "Hey, let's just sort by manufacturer." Look at this two, four, six, eight, 10, 11 masks. So we have a WWDOLL, one of the most popular masks on Amazon. MISSAA masks.

AnanBros. WWDOLL. Hotodeal. I can't even say that, Miuphro. And RANTO and ChiSip. So here's the thing. Here's what I do know about these guys. Number one, they suck at making KN95 masks. And number two, they suck at making brand names. But we know Chang Day. Actually, that's really good for Chang Day.

Oh, it's like a bag of used bags, but like one of the bags had something horrible in it. If you need less reasons to use Chang Day, there it is. There you go. Is this thing going to protect you? I'm going to say no. I've tested these masks before.

They don't pass standards and neither did this one. 69.872. 69 point, that number's supposed to say 95. It doesn't. At least, am I seeing that right? Yeah. That doesn't say 95. So it's not good. What was the breathability? Did you get that? 192. Why?

Oh man, it's a bad mask. Look on the manufacturer name. Don't buy from Chang Day. That's my personal recommendation. There are plenty of good KN95's out there that test really, really well. Chang Day does not make those masks. All right. Thank you guys so much for watching. I appreciate you.

I also would appreciate you if you send me a mask. That's right. You thought I was going to ask for a like and subscribe, but I'm not one of those YouTubers that does that. That's not me. I don't ask for like and subscribes. I don't even want them. In fact, I want you to like this video and unlike it because that's how much I don't like likes. Don't do that please. But what I do want is for you to send me a mask. If I haven't tested a mask on here, and there's a link to all the masks that we've tested, send me a mask. I'm going to put my actual address. That's right. You could actually show up there. If you're Chang Day, you'd probably show up here and murder me. I get it. It's probably unwise for me to give you my actual address, but there it is. And send me a mask and I'll test it and I'll give you a shout out. Thank you so much. And I will catch you on the next test. Maybe yours.

Description

The ChiSip Face Mask failed because it missed the filtration requirement (95%). The KN95 standard also requires that the mask have the manufacturer’s name and the appropriate technical standard, typically either "GB 2626-2019" or GB-2626-2006,” written across the front of the mask. This is similar to how official N95 masks display NIOSH approval numbers. This mask did not have the required identification on its front.

Yes, I agree with the previous commenter. The “ChiSip KN95” you tested was undoubtedly a counterfeit mask. All authentic KN95s have either the code “GB 2626-2019” or “GB 2626-2006” printed on each individual mask. The outer box also has one of the codes on it and an expiration date. What you tested could not have been a real KN95.

Question, is it possible you got a knockoff on this? Because Mask Nerd and Accumed both passed this one at 95+ filtration? I know certain product brands end up with knockoffs getting into the mix on amazon…
