The 3A Medical ASTM level 3 mask passed our particulate filtration efficiency machine test with a score of 97.80%. This 3-ply surgical mask has ear loops instead of head straps or ties.
Mask breathability is determined by airflow resistance, which we measure in pascals. The target for adults should be around 150, and the target for children should be close to 100. The airflow resistance of this mask is 78.80.
This mask has odor reminiscent of the adhesive on painter's tape. All in all, this isn't a bad mask. We did note the ASTM level 3 filtration standard is 98% and 3A Medical's mask actually came in slightly under.
